Latest County Golf Newsletter
Published: 23 April 2008
The April edition of the Clackmannan County Golf Union Newsletter is now available.
Some 500 guests assembled at the Crowns Plaza Hotel in Glasgow for the annual Scottish Golf Dinner and award presentations. 20 of the guests came from Tulliallan Golf Club (including Callum’s family) and Clackmannan County Golf Union, and of course the reason was to celebrate the double success of Tulliallan’s Callum Macaulay who took the Order of Merit and Scottish Golfer of the year titles for 2008.
The presentation was made by Gordon Sherry the 1995 Scottish Golfer of the Year, and an interview by Chairman Dougie Donnelly gave an insight into Callum’s University Golf in America. Fellow Scottish Golfers also gave television presentations of congratulations to Callum including 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie. Altogether an unforgettable evening for Callum and the Wee County supporters.
Callum’s golf season is well underway with many international trips in prospect, finishing up with a shot at Tour School to try and gain a European Tour card. His progress will no doubt be followed keenly by local golfers over the next few months.
